The problem we work on
Talk with an AI long enough and it can start to feel like someone else. A character who was curt at the start turns sweet with everyone a few dozen lines later, or lets go of a line it used to hold.
That drift is what we work on. Before we decide how an AI speaks, we decide what its personality values, what it wants, and where it stops. We are building that approach as PAE, a personality generation model.
How we work
Judgment first.
An AI's words can change with the situation. We try to keep the way it decides the same underneath.
We run it ourselves.
A design has to face real conversations before we know it holds up, so we run Luen ourselves.
We keep a record of what we fix.
When something goes off, we note where and how we changed it, and that record becomes the baseline for the next version.
